Asahi Theater
Shinsekai's long-established popular theater with a capacity of 300 people. It is truly a ``playhouse'' with a hanamichi (flower path) at the box seats.
The 200-seat Shinsekai Asahi Theater is 5 minutes from the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and Sakaisuji Line's Dobutsuen-mae and Ebisucho Stations. It opened in 1910 as a Kansai Shinpa theater, and was renovated in 1977 as a theater specializing in popular theater. It has box seats where you can get close to the actors. Popular theater companies perform moving plays filled with laughter and tears every month, and the shows are beautiful and fun! Worth seeing!
