Sumo experience
Experience sumo wrestling on a real sumo ring at Active Square Daito, which uses the same soil as the Kokugikan Sumo Hall. You can actually put on a mawashi and receive instruction from amateur sumo wrestlers. It has also become a popular tourist spot in Daito City, with inbound tourists very popular. Come enjoy this dynamic traditional national sport.
Basic information
You can enjoy the experience of sumo, Japan's national sport. The main features of this experience are as follows:
•Enjoy a sumo wrestling experience on a real sumo ring!
•With this plan, women can wear cosplay costumes (sumo suits) and enter the ring, which is normally off-limits to women, to wrestle.
•There will be a lesson on putting on a mawashi or sumo suit, the history of sumo, and how to do shikomizu.

Hirakatashuku Kagiya Museum
KawachiKagiya was bustling during the Edo period as an inn where people could wait for the 30 koku ships that traveled between Fushimi and Osaka, and operated as a traditional Japanese restaurant until 1997. In the same year, the main house of Kagiya was designated as a cultural property of the city, and is a historic building that retains the style of the Edo period, of which there are very few left. Upon receiving it as a donation, the city dismantled and restored it, and opened it as the Hirakatashuku Kagiya Museum on July 3, 2001. The Kagiya site was designated as a historic site by the city in 1998. In 2023, the annex was registered as a national cultural property.

Hirakata City Former Tanaka Family Casting Folk Museum
KawachiThis is a rare museum in Japan that conveys the history of casting. It uses the "Tanaka Family Residence - Foundry and Main House," a tangible cultural property designated by Osaka Prefecture, and exhibits materials related to casting and casters in the foundry, and folk materials such as agriculture and folk tools in the main house. There is also the remains of a relocated Yayoi period dwelling that was excavated from an archaeological site in the city, and a restored Yayoi period pit dwelling.

Special Historic Site: Baekje Temple Ruins
KawachiThe Baekje Temple Site is the remains of a temple that is believed to have been built as a clan temple by the Baekje royal family, descendants of the royal family of Baekje, in the latter half of the Nara period. Many elaborately crafted circular cornerstones remain, and it is one of the few ruins where the earthen platforms of the main temples and pagodas from when they were built in the Nara period are still in good condition. Combined with the historical background of the Baekje royal family, it is a valuable historic site that shows the historical facts of cultural exchange between ancient Japan and Korea, and was designated a National Historic Site in 1941 and a Special Historic Site in 1952.

Hirakata City Cultural Arts Center
KawachiThis facility opened in August 2021 as the base for cultural and artistic activities in Hirakata City. It is equipped with two halls, one large and one small, for cultural and artistic performances such as music and theater, as well as an event hall suitable for lectures and various parties, an art gallery, and a creative activity room. There is also a lush green plaza in front of the facility and a cafe.

Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Temples Tour (only available on April 17th and 18th, 2025)
KawachiMinamikawachi is one of the areas with the largest concentration of national treasures in Japan, and there are three temples, Kuzui-ji Temple, Domyo-ji Temple, and Kanshin-ji Temple, which enshrines the national treasure Kannon as their principal image. In 2025, in addition to the usual date of April 18th, the principal image of all three temples* will be open to the public on the 17th, the day before, and on this occasion, the "Osaka National Treasure Three Kannon Tour" has been created. By touring the three temples, visitors can experience the rich history and culture that exists in Minamikawachi. *This year only, Domyo-ji Temple will have the former national treasure, now Important Cultural Property, Eleven-Headed Kannon statue, as its principal image, the National Treasure Eleven-Headed Kannon statue, on display at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts.
